Brunch Church This Sunday!
@ 10:30 am (regular service time)
The gatherings of the earliest Christ followers centered primarily around a meal and conversation. What took place in those first-century gatherings resonates with the very nature of God and the Gospel—intimacy, inclusion, participation in community. This type of table fellowship was a way for authentic communion, authentic companionship to happen; in fact, breaking bread together is the root meaning of the word companion. This Sunday, we will participate in what has become known at UCOG as “Brunch Church”—not a potluck!—but a worship service designed so that we might replicate the experience of those early Christ followers and companion one another more authentically on our spiritual journey.
Lots of people have worked very hard to bring this together—a special thank you to Brunch Church co-hosts Therese Finn and Liz Sackett, to all the table hosts, and to the many others who will help bring this about.
Please make a special effort to join us! Could there be a better way to begin our national week of Thanksgiving?
As the old hymn invites: Come Ye Thankful People, Come!
